Social Media in the Workplace - Podcast

Recently, I have had the opportunity to interview someone who deals with social media for a business on a regular basis. I interviewed DeLee Salinas. He works in sales at K&M Tire but also helps with their social media pages. We went in depth on how K&M used hashtags for their recent dealer conference and how they paired a very specific hashtag with a very vague hashtag in order to reach a larger audience.

  1. I could see how maybe using a vague hashtag could help attract new customers. This was even something that was brought up in our book when Guy Kawasaki mentioned using a hashtag that related to another event. He said he was willing to settle with the possible confusion if it meant more interest in the event taking place. It could be a good way for new customers to stumble upon their business.
